Daybooks and account books from businesses and individuals in the Quaker Hill area of the Town of Pawling including the Daniel Merritt store, 1769-1815; the Archibald Campbell store, 1794-1799; the blacksmith firm of Emory G. Cole & Son, 1876-1879; an unidentified wagon maker, 1842-1865; farm accounts, 1827-1844; and two others concerning general merchandise, 1841. Also includes cash records of E.A. Preston, 1849-1851, with copies of several letters written from Galveston, Tex., concerning jerked beef, 1845; and account book of the Overseer of the Poor, Town of Pawling, 1822-1830, concerning money spent for goods and services to the poor and money collected.
